PIT Pee Wees (3-6 year olds)

Age specific curriculum

• Hawaiian Kempo Karate for Kids ages 3-6. PIT Pee Wee focuses on improving preschool and kindergarten aged children's basic listening, team building and motor skills
• Required clothing: Pit T-shirt, black uniform, shorts.

PIT Kids (7 - 12 year olds)

Age specific curriculum

• Enriches the lives of children by helping to install positive qualities; such as respect, self discipline, and confidence, all while getting and keeping children in shape and teaching great self defense.
• If your child is falling victim to bullying we urge you to invest in your child's ability to protect themselves by  trying PIT KIDS. Your child has everything to gain by being a member
• Indiana PIT teaches children to not be a bully, yet to never be bullied..
• Required clothing: Pit T-shirt, black uniform, any type of fight shorts, head gear, mouth piece, shin guards, boxing gloves. Men must wear groin protectors.

  What is Bullying?

  Bullying is not always easy to define. A child may encounter bullying attacks that are:

• Physical. Pushing, kicking, hitting, pinching and other forms of violence or threats.
• Verbal. Name-calling, sarcasm, spreading rumors, persistent teasing.
• Emotional. Excluding (sending to Coventry), tormenting, ridicule, humiliation.

Of course, a bully will often rely on a mix of these techniques, and include other children in the bullying, either as witnesses or active participants. Repeated attacks may escalate in intensity.

Emotional bullying, like ridicule and exclusion, seems to be more common than physical violence and, judging by what young people tell us, it can also be the most difficult type of bullying to cope with or prove. New methods have also followed this old problem texting, cruel photos from a mobile, emails and web-based attacks are increasingly prevalent - this is cyberbulying.

Persistent bullying can result in

• Depression
• Low self-esteem
• Shyness
• Poor academic achievement
• Isolation
• Threatened or attempted suicide
